Téo and Cian are best friends. They have adventures together and travel across time and space. As they can both be silly, they decide to take turns being sensible.
But some days, they forget, especially, on Mueswedthfrisatundays. One day, when they are struggling to agree what to do, they pass a bus stop and decide to catch the first bus that comes along. It is the Number Sixty-Six Million. It proves to be the start of many adventures.
The stories will appeal to children seeking a blend of adventure and humour.
They are pitched at the 6-9 age group, but are suitable for parents who enjoy reading with their children aged 5 plus.
- The Number Sixty-Six Million Bus
Waiting at the bus stop, Téo and Cian hop onto a triple-decker bus. It takes them back in time sixty-six million years. They immediately find themselves whisked to dinosaur school, where they are easily the worst pupils. The boys decide not to return the next day, and catch the bus home, instead. Before getting on the bus, they pick up an egg.
Back home, the egg hatches. The dinosaur that emerges is Rexy, who turns out to be utterly brilliant. She accompanies them to school. She is fascinated by mathematics astrophysics and the theories of Einsteinosaurus. She also has a big interest in asteroids. Perhaps, she can solve a problem that seems very important to dinosaurs.
Before she returns, Rexy leaves the boys a chart with destinations and bus stops on it. It will enable them to travel in time to further adventures.
- Téo and Cian meet the Pirates
A bus heading towards the seaside drives straight into the sea, with Téo and Cian finding themselves, suddenly, aboard a pirate ship. The ship’s captain is the terrifying Pinkbeard, who turns out to be a girl in disguise. The boys prove to be surprisingly good at capturing treasure. Unfortunately, Téo is betrayed by Captain Pinkbeard and Cian has to rescue him from the Tower of London.
- Téo and Cian go back to the Muddled Ages
In this exciting story, the two friends go back to King Arthur’s court. They meet a dragon and have to fight against two fearsome knights, Sir More Dread and Sir Even More Dread. They are helped by a retired magician and his incompetent assistant.
- Téo and Cian go back to Ancient Rome
The two friends travel back in time to meet the mad emperor, Caligula. Somehow, they get involved with gladiators, wild animals and chariot races. In this madcap story, they only just manage to escape in time.
- Téo and Cian meet the Vampires
This time the boys find themselves in an eerie castle where the vampires pretend to act like ordinary people living on beetroot soup. Things take a turn when their neighbour, Mr Van Helsing, arrives to persecute them. The boys need to use all their ingenuity to save the vampires, their family and their unusual pets.
